Tip of the Week #6: Make Your Own Hollow Points
Are you tired of paying premium prices for hollow points that have less material than their round-nose counterparts? Are you fed up with having to register your hollow points in anti-gun states? Then this article is for you. You can make you own hollow points!
First, buy a large supply of your normal round nose bullets. Then, you’re going to need a 3/16th” metal drill bit. You can use either a Dremel or a hand drill, but most prefer to use their gunsmith Dremel. Then, while holding the bullet firmly between your fingers and against a hard surface, drill into the bullet. You’ll have to apply some force, and you definitely want to drill or Dremel spinning at top speed. We recommend wearing eye protection, for safety safe.
After your first few, you’ll get the hang of it. Most people learn how to do almost one thousand per hour!
